We are seeking an Area Manager to lead our Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC business.
The successful candidate will provide overall leadership to ensure the Area meets its projected goals for growth and profitability. Will collaborate with other leaders in the company to position the firm to grow in the marketplace, mostly focusing on Private Sector clients. This leadership positon will be responsible for successful delivery of programs and client satisfaction and ensure the Area meets the budgeted financial performance by delivering exceptional client service safely, manage resources efficiently, and provide a challenging and rewarding environment for employees.
Key responsibilities include:
Meets or exceeds Area plan objectives for sales, revenue, cash and profitability.
Develops and leads excellence in the following areas:
Business Development
Identify and attract new clients and opportunities to KLF
Lead development and implementation of business plan to position the Area for above-average growth.
Develops and maintains relationships for key clients and teaming partners in the Area
Coaches sales team to make smart business decisions
Performs costing for and/or provides guidance to all significant proposal efforts in the Area
Planning & Operations
Develops annual business plan to provide above average profits and growth
Ensures client satisfaction
Drives exceptional business and project management practices
Drives the quality of the work product through collaboration with technical leadership in the Area and at the national level
Ensure the safety of employees through full execution of company safety practices including direct involvement in stewardship
Talent Acquisition and Management
Provides a safe, challenging and rewarding environment for employees
Recruits, mentors and coaches employees
Education/Certification
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or related field required. Master's/MBA degree or equivalent preferred.
Professional registration preferred
Experience
A minimum of ten years' experience in an engineering consulting firm or related professional service business
Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations in their local market,
A minimum of five years' management/leadership experience required.
