Job Description
The Principal System Engineer/Architect will develop requirements, map those related functionalities onto customer architecture, where applicable, and suggest alternative system solutions to realize an end to end mission effect. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree in an engineering/technical discipline from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 20 years or more of professional experience; or 18 years with a related Masters, or 15 years with a related PhD degree. Viewed as the most senior authority in discipline. The Systems Engineer/Architect Engineer must have exceptional technical leadership experience and individual contributor engineering experience in the following areas:
Customer Enterprise Cloud expertise, namely in the analytics & computation (i.e. GHOSTMACHINE) spaces
Expertise with Map Reduce (Java, Pig) analytics and related frameworks (Hadoop, Accumulo)
Expertise in Customer Enterprise & data flows
Expertise in Infrastructures and related Utility Cloud & Enterprise Storage architectures
Detailed and hands on experience of customer Enterprise systems, such as GHOSTMACHINE, DataXplorer, etc. to help them understand what elements can feasibly Go Corporate versus what will be required to stay in house.
Expertise in the development of Use Cases and Feasibility briefs are deliverables that will be used to make a compelling needs statement to the greater technical management for internal systems hosting.
An extremely strong systems engineer with a background in either the mission architectures and/or customer Enterprise system expertise. The candidate must have very strong organizational, leadership, communications and presentation skills.
